IPTV Studio help.
Answers to the questions that come up most. Not listed? Email me.
Add your playlist
IPTV Studio works with the playlist from your own provider. You can add it in two ways:
Xtream Codes: enter the server address, username and password your provider gave you.
M3U: paste the M3U link from your provider.
The password is kept in your device’s secure storage. It never reaches me.
Programme guide
With Xtream Codes the guide usually comes from your provider. Missing a guide, or want a better one? Add an XMLTV link to your playlist. The app then fetches the guide from that address.
Posters and descriptions
Posters, descriptions and episode details come from TMDB (The Movie Database), using your own free API key. Create an account on themoviedb.org, request an API key in your account settings and enter it in the app’s settings. The key is kept in secure storage.
Casting to a TV
Casting to Chromecast is part of Pro. Your phone and the Chromecast must be on the same network. Android and iOS ask for permission to find devices on your local network: allow it, or the app cannot see your Chromecast.
Profiles
Each profile keeps its own watch history, favourites and hidden categories, with its own picture or initial and colour. What you watch is separate from which playlist you use.
The first profile is free. More profiles are part of Pro.
Parental control
Set a 4-digit PIN in the app’s settings. Locked categories then stay closed until someone enters the PIN. The app finds adult categories and locks them for you, and you can lock other categories yourself.
The PIN applies to everyone on the device. After too many wrong tries you have to wait before trying again.
Pro and cancelling
Pro costs €9.99 a year, with a 7-day free trial you start through the store. Google Play or the App Store bills and renews it.
To cancel, go to subscriptions in your Google Play or App Store account, at least 24 hours before the period ends. Refunds follow the store’s rules.
If Pro ends, nothing is deleted. Extra playlists and profiles stay in the app, locked until you subscribe again.
Deleting your data
Everything the app remembers is on your device. Remove a playlist or profile in the app, or uninstall the app to delete everything. There is nothing to delete on my side.
A stream does not play
Check first whether the stream works with your provider’s own app or website, and whether your subscription is still active. Providers differ a lot and the app cannot guarantee every stream works.
Still stuck? Send me a bug report with your device, the app version and what happened. Never send your password or playlist link.
